August 5, 2018

Readings for this week:

05 August       Job 37-38/Psalm 88

06 August       Job 39-40/Philippians 2

07 August       Job 41-42/Philippians 3

08 August       Proverbs 1-2/Philippians 4

09 August       Proverbs 3-4/Psalm 89

10 August       Proverbs 5-6/Colossians 1

11 August       Proverbs 7-8/Colossians 2

Things to look for as you read this week:

  • In what form does God appear to Job when He answers Job's questions?
  • Whom does Paul plan to send to the Philippians to bring back news about them?
  • Does God conclude that Job or his friends are more accurate in what they have said about God's ways?
  • To what Jewish tribe does Paul belong?

Last week's answers:

  • When Jesus is dying on the cross, who affirms that He is innocent? (A Roman centurion—Luke 23:47)
  • Job's "friends" insist that his sufferings must be due to some great sin in his life. Does Job admit their charges? (He does not.—Job 31)
