June 10, 2018

Readings for this week:

10 June           I Chronicles 7-10/Psalm 68

11 June           I Chronicles 11-14 /2 Corinthians 12

12 June           I Chronicles 15-16/2 Corinthians 13

13 June           I Chronicles 17-18/Galatians 1

14 June           I Chronicles 19-21/Psalm 69

15 June           I Chronicles 22-23/Galatians 2

16 June           I Chronicles 24-27/Galatians 3

Things to look for as you read this week:

  • Usually Paul starts his letters by calling himself a servant, emphasizing his humility. What does he call himself in Galatians, and what does this emphasize?
  • What reason does God give for having Solomon, not David, build a temple for God?
  • At Antioch, Paul confronts an important apostle who is avoiding eating with Gentile Christians because a group of Jewish Christians opposes the practice. Who is the apostle?

Last week's answers:

  • Sadly, Hezekiah, a good king, is succeeded by an evil son, Manasseh. What horrible thing does Manasseh do to one of his sons? (Sacrifices one of his own sons as an offering—2 Kings 21:6)
  • What topic is Paul discussing when he says, "The one who sows bountifully will also reap bountifully?" (Financial stewardship—2 Corinthians 9:6)
